First of all, I applaud you for setting this goal for yourself and for approaching it in such a healthy way! I would definitely say that the cup is half full and able to handle more as time goes on. The habits you are building now will sustain your weight loss moving forward. I would encourage you to find an “exercise” or physical activity that you like so you can incorporate it permanently in your lifestyle. You don’t want this year of hard work to be in vain if you give up your new habits after the finish line. In closing, I’ll say that you probably didn’t gain this weight within a 50 week time frame, so be kind to yourself as you reverse time – the ultimate goal is the healthy weight – not the time frame.
First, I’d like to apologize for taking so long to reply to your comment. I’ve been finishing up a course in school, writing final papers and studying for the final exam. Now that my class is finished, I’m playing “catch-up” in other aspects of my life. Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comments. I’ve been so focused on the goal and trying to reach that goal in 50 weeks, I didn’t think about the other things you mention. You’re correct, the weight gain was gradual, over several years, so patience and consistent healthy behavior is key to loss. I’m actually beginning to really enjoy HIIT. It’s quite difficult, but the workouts are short, and I feel wonderful afterward. Other than walking, I’m still searching for a cardio exercise I enjoy. That said, walking is a perfectly acceptable form of cardio. Thanks again for your encouraging comment. I truly appreciate the guidance and support.
I used to hate exercise too, but now I can’t live without it, so it’s definitely possible to turn things around. Best of luck with your workout program!
Thank you for the well wishes. I have been doing HIIT 3 days a week for a month now and am quickly learning to love it. It’s quite difficult, but I feel great afterward. AND, it seems to be working. I just need to be consistent and not quit.
