I grew up eating delicious German food, cooked lovingly by my amazing Grandmother. This week, I’ll be highlighting some wonderful recipes from this wonderful part of the world.
The recipes will be coming from the Youtube channel
This Youtube channel, and website, ” is dedicated to teach how to cook authentic, traditional and modern German recipes.” So, let’s get cooking! 😋
One of my favorite meals as a girl, (and now!) was German sausage with fried potatoes. As often as I’ve tried to replicate my Grandmother’s delicious potatoes, I’ve never been quite successful. While still good, mine were never as good as hers. So, I was pleased to find this video. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients: (For the complete recipe, follow this link – or watch the video below)
- 2 pounds firm potatoes i.e. Yukon Gold, Red Bliss, Carola, Inca Gold, Rose Gold etc.
- 1 large onion
- 2 tbsp. Butterschmalz (clarified butter)
- 2 tbsp. neutral vegetable oil
- Salt pepper, and paprika powder to taste
