Welcome to The Purple Almond! My name is Tamara Hoerner. I am a student at Hawthorn University working toward a Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education.   1. I make this – but use blueberries instead of dates. Will have to try the dates 🙂

  2. Going to have to try this. Will let you know. We are going to have to use an alternative fruit than dates. But this looks really delicious and is very heart friendly. Thank you for sharing.

    • Let me know how it turns out. Often, dates are used as the sweetener in the smoothies. So, I’ll be curious to see how it tastes without them. Thank you for stopping by! 😊

      • So, I tried the smoothie. I totally see why dates are in the recipe. However, I only had 1 banana, mangos and papayas. Soo, it was not as sweet as I thought it would be. On the other hand it actually tasted good except a little more like oatmeal but as a drink. Which for me is the best way to consume. I am not much of an oatmeal fan, but in this way it does work for me. So for my family it does work. Now we have to add the right amount of bananas and make it to the right fruit that works best for us. For a family that only eats oats in cookies and granola. You have made an alternate way for LCAP to ingest oatmeal. THANK YOU for the new recipe.
