Yep, I’ve begun taking practice clients. Actually, I’ve been using practice clients in my courses for about 6 months, all of them members of my extended family. While I am extremely grateful for the help of my family, I would like to expand beyond the boundaries of my extended family to the general population. So, I am reaching out to my “blogging” family.
I have eight courses left to take before beginning my thesis. I will need practice clients for most of the courses listed below and have placed ** by the courses that need practice clients. Each practice client must have a health concern dealing with the organs covered in that course. For example, in my current course, clinical nutrition for the digestive system, my practice client has health issues with one or more of the organs of the digestive system. In the list below, the writing in purple indicates which organs are affected.
As you can see, my openings are extremely limited, one client per course over the next 2 years. Each client will receive nutrition consultations COMPLETELY FREE. (This does not include supplements or any blood/stool/urine testing-just my counseling services)
My client interactions with you will give me real-life experiences, to assist me in establishing my own clinical practice. Since I am not a physician, I am unable to diagnose, treat or prescribe medication. Instead, under the supervision of my professor, a professional in the field of natural health and nutrition, I will work with you using the following methods:
I will hold an initial consultation with each client, via SKYPE (preferably) or over the phone. During the initial session, which will last between 75 and 90 minutes, I will ask a series of questions designed to help me gain a better understanding of your health history, stress levels, activity levels, and dietary intake, which will enable me to create a healing protocol customized to your unique health and wellness goals.
Following the initial consultation, I will review and summarize your case and conduct a dietary analysis utilizing a nutrient analysis program. I will then make suggestions for dietary, lifestyle and supplemental recommendations that will be discussed with my professor(s). After discussing your case with my professor, and receiving their approval, I will schedule a time with you, to discuss my observations and suggestions.
The degree I will be receiving, Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition, is estimated to take 5 years. I began my coursework in December, 2015, and am on schedule to finish by the 5 year mark of December, 2020. The schedule listed above, under the course list, is tentative, and does not include any extra time off.
I realize most of these dates are several months away, some even a year or more. So, I’ve decided to develop a special monthly email for the individuals who sign up, as well as my past clients. This email will give tips on changes you can make while you wait for your slotted time. THANKS!!!!
