Daily Inspiration: Let’s Dance!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! I have finished, and turned in, my final assignment for my current course, I still have an oral exam to take, and another exam after that, but turning in this final assignment was a big step...

And I'm very happy and excited, SO

I decided to share some "blast from the past" FUN dance videos with you.

dance

The first one is very special to me and is dedicated to my Grandmother, who turns 100 years old on March 2, 2017. It’s a clip from the Lawrence Welk Show.

When ever we visited their house, when I was a child, we ALWAYS watched the Lawrence Welk Show. I want to say it was on every Saturday Night, on PBS, but not sure. The show was one of the longest running shows in TV history, airing from 1955 to 1971. After that date, it ran in syndication from 1971 to 1982.

My Grandparents never missed a show. You see, they lived in a small town in South Dakota called Herreid – current population 403. Lawrence Welk was from Strasburg, North Dakota, just 23 miles from Herreid. I can tell you…Lawrence Welk was a HUGE deal in that area when I was a girl.  I never much cared for the show myself, with all of the waltzes and polkas, but seeing this video brought back many fond memories. ANYWAY…

LETS DANCE!

THE CHICKEN DANCE-LAWRENCE WELK

THE HAND JIVE

THE TWIST

THE HUSTLE

FINALLY, as I am a big fan of THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR,  I have to end with this:

THE CARLTON DANCE

Well, that’s it for me until Monday. I’m taking the weekend off with my Family, to relax before I need to start studying again.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS!

(AND…DON’T FORGET TO DANCE!)

  3. Ha! Lawrence Welk was a fixture in my grandma’s house too. Just showed my kids some old clips of the show. Good times!
