Meal prepping…I must admit, I hear this term splashed around, and, as a nutritionist (future nutritionist 🙂 ) I probably should be doing this…but I don’t. I used to be a “fly by the seat of my pants” kind of cook. You know the type, open the freezer/fridge at some point in the afternoon and say “okay, what’s for dinner today?” Some of you may be asking “how can you function like that?” or “How do you go grocery shopping without a plan?” Or, maybe you’re like me and just sort of “go with the flow”. I do keep the house stocked with healthy, whole fruits, vegetables, free range meat/chicken/fish. I just didn’t plan or prep for specific meals.
Now, however, I create weekly menus. Even that simple step helps tremendously. There’s something comforting about knowing what’s on the menu, or what to cook on any particular day. Planning also helps to remain on a healthy, whole food eating plan. So, now that I plan menus, meal prep is the next logical step.
While meal prepping is a wonderful idea, and logical, when it comes to meal prepping, I’m pretty useless. So, I decided to do some research and found 3 sites with meal prep ideas and recipes:
I also I came across this wonderful article from fellow blogger “Naked Nuts Nutrition”, highlighting 6 tips for meal prep.
